Field Engineer – Israel (SWAT Team)

About the role
Speedata is rewriting the rules of data infrastructure with the world’s first Analytics
Processing Unit (APU) — a revolutionary processor delivering massive acceleration for big
data workloads. As a Field Engineer based in Israel, you will join our elite SWAT team to
lead technical execution for global customer engagements.
You’ll design and execute high-impact POCs, benchmark performance, and collaborate
deeply with regional field engineers, R&D, and Product to shape how Speedata delivers
value to data-intensive organizations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute POCs and benchmarks across industries and regions.
Collaborate with regional Field Engineers to deliver joint success for sales.
Opportunities
Analyze Spark-based workloads (SQL, ETL) and optimize them for Speedata APU.
Build reusable infrastructure for tuning, logging, and benchmarking.
Create tuning guides, cheatsheets, and enablement tools for global field teams.
Support product feedback loop from customer use cases into roadmap discussions.
Travel globally to support customer success, workshops, and technical escalations.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in big data performance, systems engineering, or solution architecture.
Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark internals and workload tuning.
Familiarity with Spark acceleration stacks (RAPIDS, Gluten, Velox).
Strong understanding of Parquet, ORC, Delta Lake, and Iceberg formats.
Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD for deployment and operations.
Experience with distributed file systems (HDFS, S3).
Comfort working in customer-facing environments with executive presence.
Fluent in English
