Adi Gelvan

CEO

Adi Gelvan is a veteran tech executive and serial entrepreneur, currently serving as the CEO of SPEEDATA, a semiconductor startup redefining analytics infrastructure with its purpose-built Analytics Processing Unit (APU). Known for his sharp operational instincts and deep technical insight, Adi joined Speedata in 2025 to lead its next stage of growth following a successful chip tape-out and expanding commercial interest in high-performance analytics workloads.

Before Speedata, Adi was the co-founder and CEO of Speedb, the high-performance key-value storage engine that served as a drop-in replacement for RocksDB. Under his leadership, Speedb tackled scalability bottlenecks in metadata-heavy workloads, culminating in its acquisition by Redis in 2024.

His earlier career includes executive roles at SQream, Infinidat, XIV, and EMC, where he consistently scaled operations and drove complex enterprise sales across the storage and big data landscape. Adi holds an M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University.

A believer in building from the ground up, with both grit and vision, Adi has built a reputation for transforming deep tech into real-world impact.

Jonathan Friedmann

Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder

Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in executive roles at semiconductor companies. Previously, Friedmann was the CEO & Co-Founder of Centipede, which developed IP for general purpose processors.

He also served as COO and VP R&D at Provigent, an infrastructure semiconductor company acquired by Broadcom for over $300M. Friedmann holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering (Magna Cum Laude), an MSc in Electrical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude), and a PhD, all from Tel-Aviv University.

Dan Charash

Chairman and Co-Founder

Dan was previously CEO and Co-Founder of Provigent, an infrastructure semiconductor company which became the global category leader in its field and was acquired by Broadcom for over $300M. Dan has also served at Broadcom as GM of one of its infrastructure group’s lines of business. Dan has an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology and a BSc in Math and Physics from the Hebrew University and is a graduate of Israel's prestigious Talpiot program.

Yoav Estion

Chief Technologist and Co-Founder

Yoav is renowned for his groundbreaking research in high-performance computing, which encompasses hardware accelerators, operating systems, and programming models. Etsion is a professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology. Previously, Etsion headed the Technion Computer Engineering research center and was a Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Yoav holds a BSc and MSc (Magna Cum Laude) in Computer Science from the Hebrew University and a PhD from Hebrew University.

Dani Voitsechov

VP R&D and Co-Founder

Dani has vast expertise in designing energy efficient computing systems. Previously, Voitsechov has worked in System Emulation Engineering at Intel Corporation. Voitsechov holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Computer Engineering from the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology.

Itai Incze

Chief Software Architect and Co-Founder

Itai is an entrepreneur with more than 18 years of experience in big data infrastructure and database-focused software.  Previously, Incze was CTO & Co-Founder of Cogito Systems and CTO & Co-Founder of QUADX. Incze holds a BSc from the Hebrew University in Math, an MSc degree from Tel Aviv University in the field of multi-core programming (CS) and is a graduate of Israel's prestigious Talpiot program.

Tom Deane

Chief Product Officer

Tom leads Product Management at Speedata, including the product roadmap and product vision.

Prior to joining Speedata, Tom led Product Management at Cloudera for the containerization of the Cloudera Data Platform.  Prior to Cloudera, Tom led Product Management at Sense.io, a SaaS platform used by data scientists to collaborate on ML projects.   Prior to that, Tom was a Product Manager at NVIDIA where he worked on a variety of motherboard chipsets and embedded GPUs.   Tom holds a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School

Dan Eaton

Chief Sales Officer

Dan leads Sales and Partnerships at Speedata. He was previously VP Sales at TigerGraph, delivering 80% of revenue, and Director of Business Development at Xilinx, expanding the datacenter market for Accelerated Computing Products with customers including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and other hyperscale cloud companies. Earlier in his career, Dan was CEO at Parallel Computing Solutions. Dan earned his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.

Rany Porat

VP Operations

Rany brings over 30 years of experience in Semiconductor Operations, Engineering, Reliability and Quality fields. Prior to joining Speedata Rany was Director of Product Engineering at Broadcom, Senior Director of Operations at Valens, and VP of Si Operations with SatixFy. Rany holds B.Sc degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Tel-Aviv University.

Liraz Blumenkrantz Menchell

Chief Administrative Officer

Liraz is the Chief Administrative Officer at Speedata. She is responsible for a broad array of business, human resources, leadership and key operational functions within the company. Prior to joining Speedata, Liraz was the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute Program Coordinator and Project Manager at the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) where she played a key role in the management of the Institute’s operations. Prior to that, Liraz worked with the Electrical Engineering Department at the Technion, held key positions at Wix, and was a marketing consultant for several Israeli and international startups.

Liraz in an internet marketing veteran with over 12 years of experience in advertising and social media. She lives in Atlit with her partner and is a mother of two and a poodle named Pixel.

Zeev Brunin

VP VLSI

Zeev is the Vice President of VLSI at Speedata and is responsible for all VLSI activities within the company. Prior to joining Speedata, Zeev was Director of VLSI for Valens Semiconductor, where he played a major role in building the VLSI team from the ground up and managed multiple “tapeouts” through production.  Prior to that, Zeev worked as VLSI Director at Mobilygen and Metalink. Zeev brings 28 Years of experience to Speedata, including more than 20 years of successfully managing integrated circuit developments.

Rafi Shalom

CTO, Chief Architect and Co-Founder

Rafi is a leader in the field of semiconductor product lines for data centers and cloud. Previously, Shalom was VP of ethernet adaptors at QLogic and Cavium and the Co-Founder and Chief Architect at Siliquent. Shalom holds BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from Tel-Aviv University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Gal Barnea

VP Software

Gal leads Software Engineering at Speedata, bringing over 20 years of technical leadership in the Data & Analytics space, and specializing in building innovative large-scale systems for the largest companies in the world.

Previously, Gal was CTO & Co-founder of Eyeview digital (Aquired by Inmar Intelligence), the industry leader in outcome-based video marketing. He lead Database Engineering at AWS, Amazon Redshift, the world's most popular cloud data warehouse, as well as serving as Worldwide Technical Leader, Data & Analytics.

Gal holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.

Dror Trieman

VP of Program Management

Dror leads Project Management at Speedata, overseeing execution across the broader organization, with a focus on accelerating delivery and cross-team alignment.

Previously, Dror was Director of Software Engineering at Oracle, where he led international development teams in the data analytics domain. He brings deep experience in managing large-scale software initiatives and driving organizational efficiency.

Dror began his career in Unit 8200 of the Israeli Intelligence Corps and holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science.
