Hardware QA – Student position

We’re looking for a hands-on HW QA for a Student Position to keep our hardware lab running smoothly. In this on-site role, you’ll be the go-to person for managing and testing our cutting-edge analytics accelerator cards and servers, programming FLASH devices. If you love working with hardware, organizing complex setups, and making sure everything runs like clockwork, this role is for you!


Requirements:

  • Second-year or higher Electrical Engineering / Computer Science student or Proven experience as a computer technician.

  • Ability to work on-site 2–3 times per week.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Analysis & Test Planning: Review design specifications and requirements to develop comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Test Design & Development: Design mechanical and electrical test fixtures and develop test automation scripts using programming languages such as Python or C++ to improve efficiency.

  • Test Execution: Conduct various tests, including functional, performance, stress, reliability, and compatibility testing, on components like PCBs, processors, memory, and power supplies.

  • Defect Management: Identify, document in bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA), prioritize, and track defects, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform failure analysis on hardware defects to determine the underlying cause and provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams for improvement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with hardware design engineers, software developers (for integrated systems), manufacturing teams, and vendors to ensure seamless product development and transition to production.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports, and communicate test results and quality metrics to stakeholders.

  • Compliance: Ensure that all products and testing processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., CE, FCC, UL).

Technical Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems.

  • Basic Python scripting abilities.

  • Basic understanding of SQL.

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.

  • Basic familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Hands-on experience with computer hardware (PCIe, memory, RAID).
